Rob Parton is well known nationally and internationally for his JAZZTECH Big Band and other ensembles. Parton enjoys assembling some of the finest musicians in Chicago to perform cutting-edge big band jazz. For the 2008 Elkhart Jazz Festival, he brings a quartet including Steve Million on piano, Eric Hochberg on bass, and Bob Rummage on drums.

Throughout the year, Parton hosts college and high school bands to serve as opening acts at their home club FitzGerald’s. This is an excellent opportunity for young aspiring jazz musicians to get a chance to hear, close up and in person, a ful-blown professional big band comprising some of the finest musicians in the country.

Rob Parton is Associate Professor and Chairman of Jazz Studies for the Chicago College of Performing Arts of Roosevelt University.

Rob is also leading a Trumpet Clinic for the Elkhart Jazz Festival on Saturday morning.
