With an enthusiastic presentation that virtually commands the listeners' eyes and ears, an

experience with electric violinist Cathy Morris is simply unforgettable. Performing on concert

stages in the United States and abroad and highlighting her five CD's of original music and

unique arrangements of familiar classics, Cathy is an expert at leaving lasting impressions

with audiences of all ages. Her "party jazz" sound includes Latin, funk, R & B, blues, Cajun,

and more, as part of the adventure one will experience with Cathy and her band.

To her credit, she has played for President Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, First Lady Laura

Bush, and John Mellencamp -- as well as for the opening ceremonies for the Formula One

Race, World Swimming Championship, and the Indianapolis International Violin Competition.

She is a favorite at the Elkhart Jazz Festival and Indianapolis Jazz Festival and, in addition to completing a 12-concert tour in Japan, she has opened for George Benson, Chuck Mangione,

Burt Bacharach, Rick Braun, Spyro Gyra, fourPlay, and Najee, to name a few. Her commitment

to music education puts her in front of and collaborating with literally thousands of students

each year as she performs at convocations, conducts workshops, and performs her original

music that she has arranged for string and full orchestras, jazz band, and choir.

Cathy Morris is also leading a student Violin Clinic for the Elkhart Jazz Festival on Saturday

morning.
